Social Nights

Have you ever wanted to try your hand at badminton and never had the chance to do so?

The Ballarat Badminton Association is the perfect place for strangers to the sport to come and have a go at this exciting sport. New and experienced players are more than welcome to attend our social nights or casual court hire sessions. Whether you’ve just discovered the sport or haven’t played in quite some time, the BBA’s social nights and casual court hire sessions are perfect for developing skills, meeting new people, having fun, and being active.

Social nights are for people of all ages and skill levels. Badminton players are welcome to come as either teams or individuals. Even if you don't have anyone to play against, come along and our friendly volunteers will match you up with for a hit.

The aim of the night is to have fun and enjoy yourself while meeting new people and developing your skills and love for the game.

Ken Kay Ballarat Badminton Stadium is open to the public for casual court hire for those who are wanting to play at their own leisure. Bring a partner or a group of friends for a casual hit or high stakes game. The stadium is open four days a week with doors opening mid-afternoon until late.

Membership to Ken Kay Ballarat Badminton Stadium is open to all social night and casual court hire players. Membership entitles players to discounts for court hire, sporting equipment, and other club promotions throughout the year. Player membership is valid for the calendar 12 months

Players wishing to attend our social nights or play casually should wear comfortable clothes and flat footwear for running and jumping. Badminton rackets and shuttlecocks are supplied on the night but you are welcome to bring your own equipment.

The Ballarat Badminton Association also advises players in bringing a bottle of water and sports towel for perspiration accumulated while playing. A canteen is also on hand to provided additional refreshments and snacks for players and spectators.

Sporting equipment can also be purchased during the day from our onsite shop. Please ask our staff about what equipment is right for your skill level and needs.

Mondays: 4pm - 9pm

Tuesdays: 6pm – 9pm

Wednesdays: 6pm - 9pm

Thursdays: 7pm - 9pm
